What are the RMCC’s?
The Recyclable Material Collection Centers (RMCC), an integral part of Tadweer Group environmental initiative, mark a significant stride in enhancing the recycling collection infrastructure for the residents of Abu Dhabi. This initiative started in 2023 as a direct response to the UAE’s commitment to the Year of Sustainability, encouraging the community’s participation in sustainable practices to tackle environmental challenges.
A total of 24 RMCCs, designed for maximum efficiency, are strategically positioned across Abu Dhabi.
Looking ahead, we have ambitious plans to further expand this network. Between 2024 and 2025, an additional 100 units are slated for deployment, a move that underscores the authority’s commitment to environmental stewardship. Moreover, we are exploring various competitive incentives to encourage and reward resident participation in these recycling efforts.

What you can recycle at RMCC?
These centres are equipped to manage 16 different recycling streams, including paper, cardboard, plastics, batteries and more, significantly contributing to the diversion of waste from landfills. The current infrastructure eases the recycling process for residents and plays a pivotal role in advancing the UAE’s environmental objectives.
