Abu Dhabi, UAE, 29 October 2026: Tadweer Group and its subsidiaries have won three Gold Awards at the Middle East Waste & Recycling (MEWAR) Awards 2026, recognising achievements in waste collection, agricultural waste management and electronics recycling.

Tajmee’e, Tadweer Group’s waste collection subsidiary, received Gold in the Excellence in Waste Collection Award category. Tadweer Group’s ‘Our Sustainable Farms’ campaign, which promotes responsible agricultural waste management, won Gold in the Best Waste Diversion/Reduction Initiative (Government Sector) category. Enviroserve, an e-waste recycling specialist jointly owned by Tadweer Group and DH Investments, received Gold in the WEEE & Battery Recycling Company of the Year category.

The MEWAR Awards recognise outstanding achievements, innovation and best practices across the Middle East’s waste management, recycling and resource recovery sectors, celebrating organisations and initiatives that advance sustainability and the transition towards a circular economy.

The awards highlight Tadweer Group’s efforts to connect responsible waste practices with the infrastructure and services needed to return materials to productive use. These efforts support Abu Dhabi's ambition to divert 80 per cent of its waste away from landfill by 2031.

Etienne Petit, Chief Executive Officer of Tadweer Group, said: “Our responsibility is to build a waste management system that meets the needs of communities today and strengthens Abu Dhabi’s ability to manage its resources for the long term. This requires dependable collection, practical support for people handling waste and specialist capabilities to recover materials safely.”

“These awards recognise the contribution of our teams and partners across that system. We will continue to strengthen these capabilities as we turn our ambition to unlock the value of waste into practical benefits for the communities we serve,” he added.

Tadweer Group’s ‘Our Sustainable Farms’ campaign was recognised for promoting responsible agricultural waste management. Between August and October 2025, it reached 6,342 workers through 2,173 farm and barn visits across Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra, providing guidance on waste recycling and the responsible disposal of agricultural waste and animal carcasses.

Delivered in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority and the Department of Municipalities and Transport, the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority and the Abu Dhabi Public Health Center, the campaign contributed to a reported decline in green-waste burning and expanded in 2026 through additional partnerships and awareness activities.

Abdulwahed Juma, Executive Director of Communications and Awareness at Tadweer Group, said: “Engaging directly with agricultural workers helps us understand the realities and challenges they face in managing waste. That insight allows us to tailor our awareness efforts and work with our partners to address practical barriers to participation. The value of the campaign lies in building that ongoing dialogue.”

Tajmee’e’s award recognises its use of technology and workforce expertise to enhance waste collection across 29 districts in northern Abu Dhabi. Following its May 2026 expansion, the company deployed over 100 vehicles and 270 employees, supported by AI-powered route optimisation and real-time monitoring. It also recorded 500,000 safe work hours in August 2026.

Ashly Alex, Chief Executive Officer of Tajmee’e, said: “This recognition reflects the dedication of our teams and the progress we are making in delivering more efficient and reliable waste collection services. By combining technology with the expertise of our workforce, we are improving how we plan and manage operations while maintaining a strong focus on safety”.

Enviroserve’s award recognises its expertise in electronics recycling, material recovery and secure data destruction. Its Dubai Industrial City facility can process up to 39,000 tonnes of electronic waste annually. Partnerships with Kärcher, ABB and Sharaf DG, alongside a June 2026 agreement with Dubai Municipality, support wider access to responsible electronics disposal and recycling services.

Mahmood Rasheed, Chief Executive Officer of Enviroserve, said: “Electronic waste contains valuable materials that can be recovered and returned to productive use, but doing so requires specialised infrastructure and responsible handling. This award recognises our team's expertise in managing complex waste streams while ensuring the safe recovery of materials and secure destruction of data”.

Advancing the circular economy in Abu Dhabi and beyond requires collaboration across government, industry and communities. Through its services, initiatives and strategic partnerships, Tadweer Group continues to strengthen responsible waste management practices, improve access to sustainable solutions and support resource conservation across different sectors.
